The Apartment, forms part of Pump House, a large house in the country village of Great Burstead in the county of Essex, England.

Great Burstead has a long and interesting history with a 14th Century church that has links with Christopher Martin, one of the leaders of the Pilgrim Fathers and the early settlers in the U.S.A.

The village is close to Billericay, a small country town with strong U.S. connections. London, Canterbury, Cambridge, Colchester and 'Constable Country' can all be reached within the hour by road. There is a fast rail link to Central London (30 minutes).

A regular bus service is available close by. Whilst a car is not essential, it would enhance your enjoyment.

This is a great centre for discovering the history of the East Anglian Region and London, and to see something of the beauty of this rural part of England.

There are many sports available in the area; golf, tennis, badminton, ten-pin bowling amongst others.

The Apartment is ¾ mile from the nearest store and Post Office. Billericay, with its wide range of shops and Railway Station is 2 miles.
